The committees discussed options for upcoming year and it gave everyone there the opportunity to contribute to what should be another successful Rotary year in Fiordland.  Amongst the variety of projects discussed, we will proceed again with organising the New Year's eve celebrations,  look at applying for District Funds to help with the Wishing Well/Rotary area outside H & J Smiths, continue to support the Youth Trade Grant, Science Forums and RYLA and to see explore a couple of international projects.

 

If you have any ideas for speakers, Pete Robertson is the speaker seeker this year and would appreciate any help you can offer.  We will continue to actively look for new members. Jill has a number of people to contact, however, if you know someone that you think would be a great Rotarian then please ask them along to a meeting - let's not keep our Rotary Club a well kept secret!  It is up to all of us to keep our Club alive and well.

However, despite the trials of getting there, the hands on practical session run by the District Webmasters was well worth attending.  Held at one of Otago Polytechnic's computer suites, Rudd and Sarah were able to test out the new website in a "Sandpit" environment.  Everything from Club attendance to website and Bulletin management, is covered.  "The new online environment is going to be great, we just need to get everyone involved" Sarah said. "It's now up to us to share the information and show everyone how they can be involved". 

 

Some Clubs are already ahead of others so there's lots of information and learning to share already which is great.  One of the first things we are going to do is set up the absence management system that the Cromwell Club has put in place.
