Recent Speakers
2oth September - Andrew Hefford, local helicopter pilot, gave us an interesting talk, showing great slides about his current work with Southern Lakes Helicopters and also his career path taken to bring him back to being based in Fiordland, including working in Canada, Papua New Guinea and Western Australia.

27th September -  "Project Tajikistan" -  Marina Kurban who has lived here over the past two years told us of her own life experiences in Tajikistan and her vision of developing a Safe House in her native country, aimed to assist survivors of human trafficking, sexual exploitation and domestic violence. Funds for her project are being raised through the Fiordland New Life Church and  brochure booklets were handed out to us with information on the project.

04th October - Sarah Greaney  spoke to us about her and John's recent visit to Sicily and Italy sharing  photos highlighting the varied history of Sicily, the many cathedrals, old towns, the active Mount Etna and the delicious food!
Rotary Professional Development Exchange
Our Rotary District is planning a Professional Development Exchange to Tasmania around next April.  This replaces the old GSE exchange, with the main difference being that nominations are now open to Rotarians.  The committee is looking for nominations of outstanding young people between the ages of 18 and 40 years to join the group as well as a Team Leader.  The exchange is focusing on tourism, agriculture and engineering. Further information will follow on soon but any queries can be directed to Andrew Hamilton, District Governor -  Email: agahrotary@gmail.com
Club Duties
The following people have been allocated to duties for the next few weeks.  (Just a friendly reminder that if your job is as ORGANISER, please also remember it is also part of this role to put all the name badges etc away after the weekly meeting!)

Please note that if your name is listed here it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement for your duty if you are not going to be available. You must also inform Marie if have swapped so that she can be properly prepared for the meeting (027 370 7649).  Ideally, if you have swapped a couple of weeks ahead it would also be helpful to email Mary so that duties can be fairly allocated across everyone - office@explorermotel.co.nz
