Southland Charity Hospital

Rotary Club of Fiordland are supporting Blair Vining’s dream of creating the Southland Charity Hospital.

Blair Vining reckoned if everybody in the south bought a brick, together we could build a hospital. So, we’re going to do just that.

The hospital has created supporter’s bricks, which will pave the pathway into the Southland Charity Hospital once built. Available for members of the public to purchase, the supporter’s bricks will be engraved to serve as a lasting testament to the community that has supported this important cause.

For a donation of $100, each brick can be engraved with up to two lines of 16 characters each.

Help us make Blair’s vision a reality.

A list was passed round at our last meeting and was exceptionally well received.

Another list will be passed round at the next Rotary meeting.

Tony Laker - Guest Speaker

This will be an outstanding talk and one not to be missed. Tony has spoken for years around New Zealand at conferences and various other events.

His topic is "How the Hell did that happen" and the story of how his travel agency (pre covid awarded the top travel agency in New Zealand) is reinventing itself since COVID-19.

Tony is on the speaker circuit with Celebrity Speakers, that's how good he is!

So bring along or partner or friend, this will be a good one.

Quiz Night

A big thank you to all members, partners, husbands, wives and friends for making the Quiz Night a great success.

It was a fantastic night with ten teams involved. The scoring was very close but congratulations to the following teams.

I must say a very special thank you to my wife, Sue and my children Patrice and Cooper. Without their help I could not have done it and it allowed all members to be included.

We are all getting better at remembering to submit our apologies, however please remember if you fail to submit your apology you will be charged for the meal.

Also please give your apologies to Merv the Bulletin Editor prior to the next bulletin being published otherwise with the best of intentions, you may be delegated a "Duty".

PLEASE remember, if you have been allocated a "Duty" it is YOUR responsibility to find a substitute, then notify Craig as to who is doing your duty for you. Hopefully this will alleviate a lot of unnecessary confusion.
