The Apprentice
The heading is appropriate as I seek to put this Bulletin together. The previous bulletin was Sarah's last after about 6 years as Editor. This is an amazing contribution to the smooth working of the Club. We all owe her a very big vote of gratitude for her input. The apprentice will be lucky to get to 6 months before being FIRED!
Spud Competition
Feb 2 saw the results of the efforts and secret potions of the Clubs "Green Fingers" with the judging of the Spud Growing. Southland market gardeners have nothing to fear from this clubs efforts!  A total of 21 entries produced a total of about 6 kg - not startling. The winner of the Frank Fisken Memorial Cup was Jill Tauri with 1.3kg of potatoes. Well done Jill. The "Best Dressed" award went to "Total Melt Down" aka Ray Willet. In Ray's absence Jill has all the prizes!
Camp Quality
Peter Flynn provided us with an insight into the happenings at Camp Quality held in Queenstown in January. CQ is for children aged 5-14 'Living with Cancer'. This years camp was for a week and hosted 40 kids, 45 companions and about 30 helpers. Barbara and Pete Robertson were mentioned as having provided valuable assistance to the past 6 camps. The Club recently donated $1500 and this was gratefully acknowledged by Peter.
Club Duties
The following people have been allocated to duties for the next few weeks.

Please note that if your name is listed here it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement for your duty if you are not going to be available. You must also inform Pete if have swapped so that he can be properly prepared for the meeting (027 370 7649).  Ideally, if you have swapped a couple of weeks ahead it would also be helpful to email Alan so that duties can be fairly allocated across everyone - abandsballinger@vodafone.co.nz
