Some of our members were surprised to learn that anyone that is rescued by the team never pays a cent - it's all funded through ACC and the government and through the generosity of the team that support the service in the Fiordland area.  Stu gave on overview of the rescues they have done which often involved the support of Southern Lakes Helicopters.  They head into the Fiordland terrain regardless of the inappropriateness of a victim's attire, regardless of whether these people have ignored local warnings. They are truly some of our unsung local heroes and we thank them for their work.

Sharyn is no stranger to the majority of us, having run Paperplus and the Post Office shop with her husband Neale for many years now.  We are very proud to have her join Rotary to contribute towards helping to help others in our community and beyond.  President Doug presented Sharyn with her pin and Rotary certificate, following an introduction from Kendra.
